Talk, talk, talk; don’t we go on, as if talking things through is the solution of the century.  Sometimes, don’t you just get tired of every ones opinion? It’s as though the solution is written in stone and you either get it, or don’t.

I remember when I was young I would learn by trial and error. It’s that get up and go attitude that helped me discover the obstacles and potholes so commonly found when stretching to produce tangible results and growing in prosperity and wising up to the environment wherever you are.

It is sad to think that those times rarely cut it anymore, and that in order to overcome these dilemmas getting the training in at a young age, and by that I mean school, college, and university, it’s no wonder the top performers get the best opportunities. Whether they are smarter than the rest doesn’t always mean they will produce more, or be more successful, but it does mean they have a better chance of winning with a royal flush, or in other words getting more opportunity than those who do not bother.

I’ve got to tell you my present day philosophy, which is completely different to when I was younger; going with the flow is the best form of attack. By that I suggest following the rest, which was never my forte, but nevertheless, have you heard the expression, ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’. That is all it takes if you can grasp this concept; it’s all about giving it your best shot. Don’t take a back seat and expect things to fall into your lap because they won’t.

I know - I’m street smart. Not that I know everything – far from it. The bottom line is we are in control of our own destinies. We can take control now, and work with increased productivity. We can condition ourselves to go the extra mile, study harder, spend less time socializing and concentrate on creating better conditions for the future. Don’t like the idea of it then drown in a hole. That’s right you have a choice; make or break the rules you have set. Only you can decide whether you want to outperform yourself and stretch into your unknown. You have the power to succeed, but it takes courage and commitment over a prolonged period of time with consistent and sustainable effort. But anyone can do it!

There comes a time when these harsh realities need to be in check. This is your chance to precondition yourself to greatness. I believe in you because I know deep down that anyone can do it. It’s a question of what you want to achieve in your lifespan. Leave it and perhaps you could be lucky and make it later on in life. Do you have a crystal ball? Or are you a serial lottery player destined to win the jackpot. Check out the odds of winning. They are far worse than making the decision to study hard.

It’s up to you I keep telling myself. It’s a difficult one when you think about making the effort, and I understand completely. No one said it’s easy. You ought to ask yourself the following and then make an informed decision that will affect the rest of your life.

Option 1 – don’t make the effort now and get a basic job that pays enough to live the kind of lifestyle you can envisage when you are young.

Option 2 –Study hard and get a job that offers true potential and the opportunity to grow, so your income meets all your expectation now, and provides conditions to raise a family is style.
