Taking it to the next level?
Blog #20
Taking it to the next level requires a good attitude as Carl points in his blog!
Yesterday I talked about direction and knowing where you want to go. It is easy enough to brag about going to the gym and pushing 100 kilos above your head, but when you actually try it you'll be surprised at how difficult it really is. Is it strength, technique, or pure skill? It's a combination of several elements, just like it is when making the effort to get the required exam results at school!
Anyway, summer holidays are upon us and many have made plans to travel; vacation time is great for relaxing and having fun. Put away your books and chill. Isn't it just wonderful not having any responsibilities? However, there are those who like me feel that learning is a part of an everyday process that contributes toward ongoing success in a lifetime. There shouldn't be any exceptions to this rule because knowledge is the key to growth. Put it this way; life is so much more fulfilling if the leaning curve is just part of the daily routine!
Whether you subscribe to my thought pattern or not many people ask me how to put a plan into action. I mean it's all very well knowing where you want to arrive, but an itinerary and schedule of events needs to be designed to navigate around obstacles, and pinpoint a road map to follow. It's easy enough to say I'm going to write a book, but the actual act of writing it involves many crossroads like: having a theme, creating the characters, developing a plot, choosing content, editing, and loads more.
My suggestion is to take a sheet of A4 paper, draw a vertical line right through the middle, and head each column for and against, or write advantages and disadvantages. Then start noting down everything you can think of that encompasses the reasons and then you can start building a project outline and developing a realistic plan. Once you've jotted everything down you are in a much better position to start a proper business plan, or if it is relative to some personal objective deal with it appropriately.
The bottom line is you are on the road to working out how to overcome obstacles, plan a path to reach objectives, stretch beyond your normal boundaries, become successful, and so much more. Once you take this positive attitude things start to flow, momentum is created, and outcomes start to become reality. One thing I learned while growing up is it takes persistence and determination to achieve results.
Some of you are already aware of this, but for those who are new it makes sense to add data on a continual basis, chip away to get the required result, apply this theory to your schooling, and see your world open up like never before.
I believe in you; do you believe in yourself?
