The truth about believing in yourself!

Carl talks about how we can condition ourselves to make positive changes!
My mother in law used to say I’m selfish. And guess what; she’s right. I wake up in the morning, stroll to the bathroom to stare at myself in the mirror. How do I look? – Narcissus 2. Am I happy or am I allowing the way I feel to upset me?
The truth is I am as good as I feel, and when I consider my feelings are relayed from my brain I realize that I am responsible for the way I see things on a conscious level. An example would be when I’m about to go for a run, or when I become hungry. Our brains send out messages based on certain criteria and it isn’t always what it seems. I remember making the effort to get up early one morning, put on my sports apparel, and go out for a short distance jog; I felt like crap!
I stretched a little, walked halfheartedly down the street, and then positively conditioned myself to start jogging even though my mind was telling me to quit. The strange thing is as soon as I started increasing the pace, against my desire; I realized that my body was feeling better than envisaged, so I stepped up the pace. A mile later I had to force myself to stop because I was having fun; I hadn’t trained for a few weeks and didn’t want to over run. You see how the mind plays games?
I love to eat. I’m overweight. Perhaps obese; I try to avoid that phrase. I call it puppy fat; don’t you just love puppies? I’ve got an answer for everything! But I am aware that I need to lose weight. I am aware that I have to get better, that if I’m not going to improve for me; then who is? My mother in law – come on! She told me that unlike me she puts other people first and it got me thinking; didn’t she just ask me to purchase her a skin cream that cost $289 when I came back from Europe?
How should we as humans be? Should we put others before ourselves? Of course not – if we want to progress effectively it is essential that we focus on ourselves and daily improvement! I’m not saying we shouldn’t think of others, but we need to maximize our time making small enhancements that will eventually help us reach our objectives.
Whatever problems each of us is faced with we need to have courage and talk to ourselves on a regular basis. Don’t let others bring you down; don’t let others tell you they know better. If it concerns your future prosperity you should aim high to reach the sky!
Believe in yourself and follow your dreams!

Very interesting film and text. It reminded me of when I first jumped from a plane. My adrenaline was in overdrive as I approached the hatchway to make the jump. I was really petrified. My mind was controlling me. As others jumped I felt a little better, but I remained scared. Then it was my turn. I just gasped a deep breath and then used my willpower to make the next move. Before I realized where I was and what was happening my chute had opened and I was in a controlled downfall. I've never forgotten the experience and love to tell people about it. It has really helped me get over worries by stretching my limiting beliefs in a positive way.
