10 ways to promote your product or service with a Start-up business – 10

With almost 30 years in marketing and sales I have come across many obstacles we can consider as bridges that need crossing. Some have not been traversed, but what I have found is the majority are possible.
The biggest factor is time, as time should be considered money in business. It is ones biggest asset, as it can be ones biggest flaw. Knowing when to move on is critical if one is to achieve the desired results. Whether one chooses Internet marketing or taking to the streets in search of prey has little bearing, but what needs to be considered is productivity. This subject is one of the most important issues to ongoing improvement. Yes they do take time to perfect and yes training needs to be part of your daily routine.

In business you should dress smartly, be well groomed, and ready for business opportunities. Find a coach to follow, read, practice, and become proactive. There are many times when you will not have the inclination to go out, or pick up the phone to make your pitch; in fact hide from so much rejection. It is normal though, so don’t take it personally – it’s a part of the selling world.
Product knowledge is paramount, so when the opportunity presents itself you are ready to show your knowledge of the industry and what makes your product or service the right one for the prospect’s firm. As salesmen/women’s income is based on volume of sales and revenue achievement it makes sense to aim for the stars, as the sky is the limit!
Today is my final blog in this particular series, so I hope it has been of some use to you. Whether you are a start-up or not sales have massive influence in career terms, so happy hunting!
